For those of you that follow me in Instagram you know that for the few next weeks I am in Greece!
It feels nice to be back home and the weather is great,
but I miss my Norwegian new home much more than I thought.
I always loved Scandinavian style but the minute I stepped to Norway I became addicted.
So much so that my neoclassic minimalist old bedroom looks like it needs a major redecoration.
I want to take the opportunity though and point out that the room itself a few years ago underwent a major refurbishment on its own. What it looks like a wall nook is in fact a window. You can see before pictures here and during construction here. I didn't want to interfere with the structural integrity of this particular wall so I had to install custom made plaster wall fittings. I finished off with another custom made shelf which runs above the bed. The nook I created is far smaller than the window which actually extends below the last shelf. The room is relatively small and on the left side there is a large window that lets in more than plenty of light.
The additions make for extra space without interfering with what is an already small room. I paid extra attention so the bed would fit perfectly under the new shelf, since on the other side and below the window there is a wall mounted radiator I couldn't move.
Overall I am happy with the result it looks better than I remembered however I have to admit my new found love for Scandinavian style keeps burning as bright as ever.
Do you have any new or past redecorated spaces you would like to share? I would love to check out your space and if you have questions I would be more than happy to provide with guidance!
