Oreo Chocolate Truffles

Tuesday, January 14, 2014

I have been wanting to make a blogpost about these Oreo Chocolate Truffles for a very long time.
Opportunity knocked the door when I made them for the New Years party, but there were none left to take photos of.  Yes they are that delicious and combined with how easy they are to make you have no excuse not to try them for yourself today. Scroll down for the recipe!

Ingredients

2 packets of Oreo cookies ( 28 cookies )
1 pack of Philadelphia cream cheese (200gr)
250gr good quality milk chocolate

Preparation

Grind the cookies to a  soft powder using a blender.
Combine the cookie powder and the cream cheese in a bowl and mix until they unify completely.
Line a few plates with parchment.
Roll into small balls and place them on the lined plates.
Place them in your freezer for at least 30min.
( This will help when you need to coat them with chocolate. If it takes you too much time to coat them only remove a few each time from the freezer )
Melt the chocolate in a double boiler until smooth.
Slip a fork under the balls and dip them one by one, shake to remove any excess chocolate and place them on the same plates you are taking them from.
( When you dip them they need to be submerged into the chocolate completely. When you rise them with the fork the top and sides will be completely smooth as long as the ball was frozen and the chocolate was runny. Keep the chocolate runny at all times and rotate the balls from the freezer in small batches )
Once the plate is full return to the freezer for 60min.
When the chocolate has hardened you can store the truffles in any container of your choice in the refrigerator.

Thank you ms_lillemy for introducing me to these amazing truffles!

Hope you enjoy them!
